  • Emergency Childcare Application Form

    Fri 12 Jun 2020 CJ

Emergency childcare is available to key workers. We can now offer places to children for the full list of eligible keyworkers as defined by Welsh Government which includes:

    • health and social care
    • education and childcare
    • key public services
    • local and national government
    • food and other necessary goods
    • public safety and national security
      transport
    • utilities, communication and financial services

Only book emergency childcare if needed

We are asking parents to only book emergency childcare provision if they are going to use it. The local authority notes that currently only half of those booking onto the provision are turning up. This creates significant issues with staff having to be sent home. It costs around £50 per child per day in day care settings if a child doesn’t attend when a place has been booked for them.

The local authority strongly advises that parents should not use the emergency childcare offer unless absolutely necessary.
