Welcome

CROESO – WELCOME!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website.

Llangynwyd Primary School is a small, community-focused village school situated in the heart of Llangynwyd, on the outskirts of Maesteg.

We are a highly inclusive school that takes great pride in ensuring every child fulfils their potential. Our aim is for pupils to leave us as well-rounded, thoughtful individuals who embody strong values and have high aspirations for their future. Our dedicated staff are committed to maintaining high standards and expectations in all that we do.

OUR SCHOOL VALUES
Together, our school community has developed a set of core values that guide everything we do. We encourage our learners to be:
- Confident and ambitious
- Collaborative and independent

- Collaborative and independent
- Honest and responsible
- The best they can be
- Kind, caring and compassionate
- Respectful and good listeners

These values underpin our school motto:

“Gweithio gyda’n gilydd – Working together.”

This reflects our shared belief that we all play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and progress of every child. We nurture teamwork, independence, and a sense of belonging within a safe, caring environment where all children can flourish.

Our vision aligns closely with the Curriculum for Wales, which aspires to develop children who are:
- Ambitious, capable learners – ready for lifelong learning
- Enterprising, creative contributors – prepared to play an active part in the 21st century
- Ethical, informed citizens – looking outward as citizens of Wales and the wider world
- Healthy, confident individuals – ready to lead fulfilling lives and make a positive contribution to society

WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP
We operate an open-door policy and warmly welcome parents, carers, families, and members of our local community to play an active role in school life and in supporting the children of Llangynwyd Primary School.

I look forward to working with you.

Diolch yn fawr,

Mrs Kelly Kehoe
