Enquiry topic
What's in our Skies?
Through our current enquiry question, we will be looking at what things do we find in the sky at daytime and at night time. We will be thinking about how things fly. We will also be researching about native birds that we might spot in the sky! So keep your eyes peeled at home, and if you spot anything interesting in the sky be sure to tell us on Seesaw.
Learning Programs
We provide a range of interventions for the children as part of our curriculum. These include Numicon, Handwriting Without Tears and Attention Autism. We also work alongside NHS speech and language therapists to provide language support in a wide range of ways.
Our Learning Programs
Handwriting Without Tears
We love to learn with our friends from Red Class (Year 1 and 2)! Sometimes we visit their classroom for specific lessons, sometimes they visit ours. We go on lots of trips together and enjoy improving our friendship skills through playground game sessions.

Real life learning experiences
We are very lucky to have a school minibus which allows us to make lots of our own trips. This includes weekly horse riding sessions with the RDA and weekly swimming lessons.
Reminders
- Horse riding in on Monday morning. Please ensure your child wears long trousers and on colder days have plenty of warm layers on with gloves.
- Forest School sessions take place during some half terms on Tuesday afternoons. We will inform you in advance when our half-term block is approaching.
- Swimming lessons are on Wednesday afternoons. Please provide your child with a swimming costume and towel. We work on our independent dressing skills, so please dress your child in clothes that are easy to get on and off. Thank you.
- Please ensure your child has their reading book with them each day. We will aim to change them at least once a week.
- We encourage the children to have a piece of fruit at morning playtime. Your child can bring in their own piece of fruit if they wish. If you would like your child to participate in the sensory fruit tasting session to help expand their diet, please send in a contribution of £1 per week and we will provide the fruit.
- Please label all of your children's possessions, including their water bottles and shoes.
- We enjoy going on walks and exploring the school's woodland area. Please provide a pair of wellies to be left in school.
Thank you!
