Dear Parent,

We’re all glad to be back in school and are looking forward to working with your child this year. We now have 10 children in Yellow Class – ranging from Year 3 to Year 6 and we’re very pleased to welcome Brandon to Yellow Class. We’d also like to welcome Mr Williams to our team. Mr Williams will be the new class teacher when Mrs Greenow goes on maternity leave in the middle of October.

For your information:

Dinner money is £2.10 per day/£10.50 per week. If your child is to have school lunches, please could you send in the money at the start of each week.

Fruit tuck: the children are encouraged to bring in a piece of fruit or fruit juice for morning break.

Horse-riding sessions will take place on Monday mornings and our first session will be on 12th September. Six pupils will participate on a termly basis and this will work on a rotation system. Please note the need for long trousers, sensible shoes, jackets – and gloves as the weather becomes colder. The riding school will need completed forms before the children can ride so please can you return them at your earliest convenience, if you haven’t already done so.

Swimming – unfortunately our swimming sessions remain on hold until we gain a new school minibus.

Please send in a PE kit on a Monday and your child can take it home on a Friday.

Homework is set on a Friday to be completed by Wednesday.

Reading books will be sent home on a daily basis and the children will be encouraged to read regularly. Please write in the reading record book when you read with your child.

Our new school website will provide you with school information, in general, and the ‘Yellow Class’ page will give you more specific information as the term progresses (website: www.llangynwydprimary.co.uk).

We use our Home/School Book for important information between us, homework information and spellings lists. Please let us know of any concerns/queries as soon as they may arise.

Thank you.

The staff of Yellow Class: Mrs Greenow, Mr Williams, Mrs James, Mrs Cherry and Mrs Rees
